Vitamin K is a fat-soluble vitamin whose primary function is related to blood clotting and bone mineralisation. That is why vitamin K is essential for the blood and bone system. Hence, this vitamin is also known as antihemorrhagic. To ensure you get adequate vitamin K in your body, make sure you find out which foods have the most vitamin K and adapt your diet to your needs.

One of the main features of vitamin K is that it is composed of 3 subdivisions, although only 2 of them depend on food:

  • Vitamin K1: is part of the composition of many vegetables, especially green leafy
  • Vitamin K2: Found in dairy products along with being found naturally in our gut
  • Vitamin K3: This is a synthetic version, which is not recommended. It is always better to get vitamin K from natural sources.
